Wolf Cinema Releases Six New Ultra HD, 4K-Ready D-ILA Home Cinema Projos

Wolf Cinema has released key upgrades to four existing home theatre projectors, and introduced two new projector and processor ensembles, built around advanced 6th generation three-chip D-ILA light engine technologies.

The existing four platforms, models SDC-8, SDC-10, SDC-12 and SDC-15, have all been upgraded to provide for compatibility with all forthcoming Ultra HD (4K) consumer video content.

Starting at an MSRP of $11,500 Canadian, the 2D/3D Wolf Cinema home theatre systems incorporate full 18Gbps Ultra HD HDMI 2.0 inputs with HDCP 2.2 compatibility, with 4K60 4:4:4 sources, in addition to a ~30% increase in peak white levels over previous editions [to ~1900 ANSI lumens]. They offer deep black level performance up to 1,500,000:1 dynamic CR, full HDR compatibility, VariScope aspect ratio memories, custom factory gamut and gamma calibrations, and more.

In addition, two flagship ensembles have also been developed for 2016, mating the SDC-12 and SDC-15 theatre projectors with a custom outboard ProScaler MK IV video processor. These 4K-ready systems, models SDC-12 Ultra 4K and SDC-15 Ultra 4K, deliver an expanded array of features to display images on home theatre screens up to 14 feet in width.

“This is truly an exciting time for home theatre enthusiasts around the world,” says Jim McGall, Director of Sales for Wolf Cinema. “The promise of breathtakingly detailed images from 4K content can now be fully realized with these Ultra HD-ready home theatre projectors.

“They each come with an all-new, fourth generation V4K temporal mapping technology core,” he continues, “which can display true 4096 x 2160 content on very large home cinema screens. But while the pixel count and refresh rates are extremely high, it’s the combination of an accurate colour palette, improved dynamic range and ultra-deep shadow detail performance that really makes the visual difference.”

Wolf Cinema will be showcasing the SDC-15 Ultra 4K at their Venetian demo suite #29-103, at the upcoming International CES in Las Vegas from January 6-9, 2016.
